Studio Day Out
This weekend (May 6 and 7) was the Pocklington Open Arts Studios. Because of time restraints I only had time to visit one studio so i went to see Catherine Inglis at Skirpenbeck. I have attended many of her workshops in pastel as I love the medium but struggle with achieving the level of detail I want in my work.
She has really helped improve my results and given me confidence to persevere in pastel. She also makes a mean strawberry scone, one of which I took home for after my tea!
She was showing some lovely work and has a lovely updated studio of which I am very jealous.
There was a photographer sharing her open day, Lesley Peatfield, who was showing some lovely work. I particularly liked her black and white photos and those of clouds.
I do enjoy open studio visits. Its great to see other artists at work (and pick up new ideas)
Looking forward to the East Riding Artists studio open days this September
